Kurdt George -

Kurdt George, an already accomplished athlete in most sports, fell in love with Brazilian jiu-jitsu after watching a documentary on Rickson Gracie. On one of his frequent visits to New York, he wandered into The Renzo Gracie Academy where he met John Danahar, who to this day is Kurdt’s mentor and coach.  John Danahar is coach to many top MMA fighters including Georges St. Pierre and is widely regarded as one of the best fighting instructors and a Brazilian Jiu-jitsu genius.

With monthly visits to the New York academy, Kurdt’s knowledge and skill grew rapidly.  Being just 60kg’s, Kurdt’s emphasis is on technique , theory and concept making him an impressive instructor and outstanding competitor. The legendary Renzo Gracie has acknowledged these qualities in Kurdt and has bestowed upon him a great honor and mission …to represent the “Team Renzo Gracie” in South Africa.

Kurdt’s achievements as a competitor include “All Africa Cup” - Champion , adcc Africa trials – finalist , European jiu-jitsu championship – medallist , pan-american championship “no-gi” – gold medallist amongst others. Also kurdt is producing some top-level competitors as is proof by his team being the best competitive team in South Africa.
